Oops, I made another accidental blogging hiatus, but hello! I’ve returned!
I’m currently in the middle of writing some essays, since they are due at the end of March. The whole fact of our course grades being based on just an essay and a final exam is still kind of scary to me, but I’ll survive it. And I’ve gained a new appreciation for daily and weekly assignments back home. :)
A friend from Smith just left this morning after visiting for about half a week. It was super lovely to have her around, and I got to see some parts of Edinburgh that I hadn’t managed to make it to, yet. We also found an antiquarian book fair where I found a very old edition of one of my favorite Nancy Drew books. That’s certainly going to be a prized possession of mine for a long, long while. We also went by Waterstones, where I found an autographed copy of a new book in a series I love. So I had to get the book, even though I now own a different sort of cover for each book in the series. Alas.
I have also discovered that I am okay with small amounts of cooked tomato (which I had on a pasta dish when my friend and I went out for dinner) and I am okay with lightly stir-fried carrots (which we made as a dinner, with rice and broccoli. For a photo, see below:)

It was quite yummy. I added a bit of hoisin sauce to mine.
I can’t believe it’s March! I’ve been here a bit more than two months now. My semester’s over in fewer than four weeks. At least in terms of classes — I’ll still have exams to complete, but luckily they were scheduled relatively close to one another which should allow for some nice traveling around Europe and the UK — which I’ve not really been able to do so far, but am aiming to do before I leave.
That’s all for now, I’ve got to get back to my essays! I’m trying to get them done as much as possible before my mom, aunt, and uncle arrive next Saturday! :)
I’ll write more soon.
Love,
Emily
